SBOE purchases the raw material from Böhler Uddeholm-in Kapfenberg. The austenitic steels, jointly developed specifically for use in the oilfield industry, are characterized by particularly high material strength, amagnetic behaviour and corrosion resistance.

The starting material for further processing is non-magnetic steel with a particularly high degree of purity. It is supplied as semi-finished products from the steel plant. Through special processes - cold forging and surface finishing – a high resistance to stress corrosion is achieved.

The standard material P530 is enhanced by P540, P550, P580 and P650. The stainless steel alloys, P550, P580, P650 and P670 have a higher chromium and nitrogen content, which provides greater resistance to pitting corrosion (pitting). At the same time, the material has better mechanical properties and improved fatigue resistance. Our material type P750 also represents a competitive alternative to conventional nickel-based alloys.

The P650, P670 and P750 materials are also available in high strength variants that have even higher mechanical properties.
